Every Detail. Any Situation.
No detail is too small. No situation is too complex.
With more than twenty years of experience and thousands of events, elegant and intimate or grand and elaborate, we deliver music and entertainment for your event with flawless precision.
We tailor our recommendations to your goals, and that makes your special event more special than you ever imagined.
We’ve delivered music and entertainment concepts for product launches, fashion shows, holiday parties, corporate business meetings, convention blow-outs, intimate executive entertainments, charitable benefits and private celebrations and affairs.
These special events have taken us from the remote beaches of Bermuda to the feet of the Statue of Liberty, giving our clients memorable and imaginative happenings such as high flying acts in the Central Park Zoo and a college marching band performing a rock tune on a fashion show runway.
Our CEO Julie Colyer and our Director of Artist Relations Andrew Johnson began their careers at major recording labels where they learned how to identify and develop talent. Their early experiences in the music industry also taught them the gift of proactive problem solving, preparing them for the challenges that lay ahead in the events industry.
Producer Bill McComb’s experience in worldwide theatrical production ensures that your performance will go smoothly, successfully and on time.
We understand the importance of the marketing goals behind your special events and we know how to help you achieve them.
When Situation Events is on your team you’ll have more of everything on your side. All it takes is one call and we’ll answer with a multitude of targeted solutions.
We can also handle all aspects of your entertainment production sound, lights, staging, power, venue liaison and more if you need it.
Our services also include an onsite production manager as a member of your team for every event.
You take care of business; we’ll take care of everything else.
We specialize in matching essential elements like music, entertainment and talent with your event’s marketing goals.
If we don’t have the right fit for you in our already impressive database, we’ll do the scouting, research and auditions to find it. All of our audio, video and print media has been digitally processed; this way you can actually experience the music and entertainment we recommend before you approve it.
We don’t do anything until we understand who, what, when, where and why from you. Once we have all the facts, then we make recommendations that have been tailored for your situation, it’s what Situation Events is known for.
Not only will your guests enjoy the event, you and your client will enjoy the results.
As founder and CEO of Situation Events, Julie Colyer has built a music and entertainment enterprise out of an exceptional talent for matchmaking and producing.
Through the years and hundreds of events, Julie’s wide range of contacts and her perseverance have served her clients well. She also knows how to treat a client’s budget with the reverence of a fiduciary.
One call to Julie will show you responsiveness. A meeting will reveal her unique perspective and commitment to lending you her support. A presentation will convince you you’re working with a creative force that will add serious value to your special event.
Julie grew up in the business with Viacom and Sony Music and the event that changed her career, The Papal Visit to Central Park. She was also instrumental in co-producing the first Music at Castle Clinton series, a continuing popular summer series in Battery Park.
She’s worked with Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Los Lobos, David Crosby, Pink, Sting, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Aerosmith, James Brown, Mariah Carey, The Goo Goo Dolls, Paquito d’Rivera, Larry Harlow, Al Green, Betty Buckley, Marin Mazie, Ann Hampton Callaway, David Johansen and many others. When local talent is called for, whether in New York or nationally, her longstanding relationships with thousands of artists will provide you with options and resources made possible through years of research, scouting, auditioning and archiving.
Julie launched Situation Events in 1995. Since then the company has grown into one of the most prolific and trusted resources for music and entertainment in the industry.
Andrew Johnson has a knack for matching your immediate needs and long-term goals with the rich resources of the artistic community.
He specializes in fresh talent with an edge. He also has an ear and an eye for the subtle effects of music and entertainment.
His proprietary digital talent database gives Situation Events the tools it needs to ensure the perfect match.
Before joining Situation Events in 2002, Andrew worked at Zomba Records with Britney Spears, N’Sync, Buddy Guy and R Kelly. Andrew has worked closely with prominent jazz artists such as Grammy nominated Neana Freelon, TS Monk and David Amram.
When you see a performer in a show, you don’t just experience that person. You experience everything that surrounds that person: the sound, the lights, the stage, the instruments and the many countless details that go into supporting a performance.
That’s what Bill McComb does. He liaises with the venue, rents the instruments, books the technicians, schedules the transportation, coordinates the talent, checks the set list and double-checks everything else.
He’s there from the moment you sign on board until the last note of your event has faded away. His mission is to serve you and your event. It’s all part of our fee.
Bill spent 27 years in the professional theater. He worked on- and off-Broadway, at the Metropolitan Opera, at Carnegie Hall, and toured the United States and the world. Throughout his career Bill has kept headliners like David Sanborn, Karen Akers, Liam Neeson, Jack Klugman, Victor Borge, Pat Metheny and Leslie Nielsen amused, on time and amply supplied with everything they need to deliver a great performance.
Name any place in the world for your special event and Bruce Kraemer will be there. His assignments have ranged from the Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center to the press events surrounding Super Bowl XXXI.

In addition to music in all its shapes and textures, we offer you an entire universe of entertainment.
We’re equipped to provide you with nationwide access to local R&B, Rock, Latin, Afro-Cuban and Funk artists. Many have performance and recording credits with legends including David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie and James Brown. And we can supply talent in any city globally.
We also offer a roster of specialty entertainment that’s rich in diversity - a French chanteusse, a Russian folk troupe, a Middle Eastern or Mediterranean string ensemble, a 16th Century Neapolitan Italian virtuoso, a Reggae band, a Japanese shakuhachi and koto duo, the list goes on and on.
Our entertainment arsenal includes an enormous digital talent base of performers and musicians that’s always available to you for evaluation upon your request.
